Startup Europe Week is an initiative of the European Commission to animate businesses by simultaneously organizing events dedicated to them in over 300 cities in more than 50 countries. We organize the largest event dedicated to entrepreneurship in the world! The event brings together entrepreneurs, freelancers, managers, the community, administration, and the media to find solutions for regional development and to discuss a common vision for entrepreneurship development – the engine of any economy. “Startup Europe Week (SEW) is the largest regional entrepreneurship event and grassroots movement in the world whose goal is to help entrepreneurs grow and thrive wherever they are or come from. SEW has consistently achieved that through a series of locally focused events that connect the local ecosystem and show entrepreneurs what support is available at their particular city and regional level. SEW is present in more than 300 cities in 50+ countries, with the collaboration of 250+ local co-organizers/ecosystem leaders. During SEW 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023, more than 150,000 entrepreneurs attended SEW events around the world, and a global audience of 6 million+ entrepreneurs has been reached through more than 20 million impressions on online and social channels.”

The tradition continues this year as well, and ProAfaceri Romania is once again organizing and supporting this edition of SEW alongside local partners, and this year the main goal is to bring uniqueness and considerable added value to the business environment. We open the door to a complete and complex universe of services where brave and passionate young entrepreneurs can bring their creative ideas to life! Concrete business development and internationalization tools will also be presented. The meeting will be interactive, focusing on essential aspects of business management, offering participants the opportunity to lay the foundations for a common action plan, through which local authorities, institutions, and organizations active in the business area can support startups in the region. ProAfaceri Romania emerged in 2017 with the aim of revitalizing the local, regional, and national business environment through various projects such as the ProAfaceri Club, the Bear Arena – business pre-acceleration, international economic missions, and various business events.

Coordinator

Sorin Peligrad is the President of ProAfaceri Romania, an experienced entrepreneur, and a well-known organizer of business events. He founded the ProAfaceri Romania Business Club and leads the business pre-acceleration program, Bear Arena, as well as the educational project – Bear Arena Junior Business Plan Competition. He has organized numerous business conferences, financial education workshops, and international economic missions. He is interested in supporting startups, business financing, connecting resources, and promoting and supporting the business environment in Brasov and Romania.

Speakers

1. Silviu Costea is the President of the Brasov Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a dynamic figure in the local and regional business environment, and an advocate for a healthy and growing business environment.
2. Raluca Baghiu is an experienced entrepreneur, a well-known and recognized consultant on European funds at both the local and national levels.
3. BCR (Erste Bank Group) is the second largest bank in Romania, a bank involved in financial education, supporting startup projects, and community projects. A representative will present financing opportunities for businesses.
4. Mircea Chirila is a Romanian entrepreneur who returned to the country after 16 years of entrepreneurship in Norway, with the aim of bringing high standards, advanced technologies, and, above all, a Scandinavian mindset to Romania. He has taken on a leadership role within the Initiative Group JCI – Junior Chamber International) Brasov and is involved in supporting and guiding young entrepreneurs.
5. George Nedelcu is a well-known business coach and trainer, as well as an experienced entrepreneur involved in numerous education and personal development projects.
