Diputación de Valencia is one of the co-organisers together with the European Commission of the Startup Europe Week in the province of Valencia.
Startup Europe Week is an event promoted by the European Commission to strengthen the ecosystem of entrepreneurs and startups at regional level, which from 11 to 15 March 2024 will bring together all participating European regions to help entrepreneurs and show them the resources available to them in their city.
The actors in the ecosystem are both public and private, local, regional, state and European administrations, universities, training centres, institutes, self-employed, cooperatives, entrepreneurs, investors, banks, savings banks, associations, foundations and all types of agents involved in both the creation of activities and their growth.
The meetings have different formats, but the same objective: to offer practical information on actions and programmes to support startups through the participation of local authorities, as well as to promote connections between entrepreneurs and raise awareness of the Startup Europe Week initiative.
The aim of SEW events is to show what opportunities for startups exist in each region at the local level, so the event programme should be designed accordingly.
Debate questions:
- What is the current situation of the “public-private” Valencian innovation ecosystem?
- Is Valencia “already” an international benchmark, and how can the holding of international innovation events contribute to its positioning?
- What should be the role of public and private actors in the ecosystem to make Valencia a leader in the creation and consolidation of innovative start-ups of international reference?
- How to design the future of the Valencian startup ecosystem?
- Should startups concentrate on a specific environment or should we design a global territorial innovation plan?
